NEGOTIATIONS OVERSEAS.
WISHES OF THE PROMOTERS. [DY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Interest in tho proposed London and New Zealand Bank has revived lately. A meeting of the members of the association was lield at Wellington last week, when confidential reports from tho association's representatives in London were considered. No information is available regarding tho outcomo of the meeting, but the following official statement was made to-day in
response to an inquiry:— " The association has received numerous inquiries regarding the flotation of tho London and Now Zealand Bank, which received its charter in Now Zealand under the Act of 1928. That Act provides that £1,000.000 must bo subscribed beforo tho incorporation of the bank. The promoters wish the bank to be soundly established beforo the public is invited to take up shares, and with that end in view negotiations are taking place in London and elsewhere."
