BOXING.
TOURNEY AT TE AWAMUTU. [by telegraph,—own correspondent.] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. The Te Awamutu Young Men's Institute held a successful boxing tournament last evening beforo a largo audience. Most of the contests were keen and bright, notably that between Allan Craig, South Auckland light-weight champion, of To Awamutu, and Ted Oxley, of Pahiatua, who had come from the sou(Ji as a substitute for H. Thomas, the Wellington light-weight champion. This waa a very even contest and at times thrilling. There were no knock-outs during the evening, although the referee stopped one bout boforo tho schedulo number of rounds. Two Auckland boys, Brvmo and Hogg, gavo another bright display. The middle-weight contest betweon Mtillins, Te Kuiti, and Neale, Auckland, and that between J. Wilson and B. Mutton, both of Hamilton, were sparkling displays.
