LAWN TENNIS.
THE EDENDALE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Edendale Lawn Tennis Club was presided over by the president, Mr. Raymond Ferrier. There !*as a large attendance of members. The annua] report, and balance-sheet fhowed the club to be in a good financial posit ion. The secretary reported that the work of converting the surface of the courts from grass to chip was proceeding satisfactorily and that the courts would be ready for the official opening on Saturday, October 12. With the improved facilities for play now available the club in a position to invite applications from new members. The ejection of officers resulted as follows: President. Mr. Raymond Ferner; vice-presidents, Mrs. Worrall, Sir George Fowlds, Hon. A. J. Staliworthv, Mr. L. Mayer f 'f Mount Albert, and Mr. Charles Tate; club captain, Mr. S. RaiW; rejector, Mr. P. M. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary and to the. treasurer lor their work during the past year.

Tho annual meeting of the Hamilton East Te Tin is Clnb was liejd last evening, the president. Mr. W. Bourne, presiding. He said the season bad been a successful one. There had been an increase in membership and competitions had been keenly contested. A •small credit balance bad resulted from - the year's operations. The tarring of the courts at a cost of £75 bad Riven members an improved playing surface. The opening day was fixed as October 5. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr.. AY.
