WEEK END WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast for 43 hours from 7 a.in. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. 'M. Vincent last evening:— Tho cyclonic disturbance is now passing eastward, and conditions should improve in consequence. Mainly fair to fine weather is expected during (he week-end throughout tho Auckland Province, and in western areas. Still unsettled in southern districts, and in places along the east coast, with further rain, followed by a general improvement. Very coid temperatures and a heavy snowfall is likely on the southern liifth lands. There is also a probability of sharp hosts inland, especially in the Waikato. Southerly to southeasterly winds, strong to gale, decreasing shortly in tho north. Heavy seas in Cook Strait and on the south-east coast, between Gisbome and Napier. Moderate seas on the west coast. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 29.90 in. Midnight, Thursday .. .. 29.75 m. GOVERNMENT REPORT. I he Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Yesterday's cyclone is low centred near Chatham Island, but a secondary one which developed this morning is located just north-east ol Auckland. An anti-cyclone covers the western Tasmun. Indications are for southerly winds strong to gale, but decreasing •gradually in southern districts. Seas generally rough to heavy but decreasing 011 the west coast of the South Island. Strong but decreasing southerly winds and rough seas in tho eastern Tasman. Weather improving in western districts, especially of the South Island, elsewhere still cold, cloudy and unsettled, with further rain or passing showers; some heavy falls in tho Ilawke's Bay and Bay of Plenty districts, with some flooding. Some hard frosts in the interior of the South Island.
