SOUTH SYDNEY'S VISIT.

THREE GAMES NEXT MONTH

The emergency committee of the New Zealand League Football Council decided last evening to accept the offer of a visit from South Sydney, the premier team in New South Wales, to Auckland next mouth, and suggested October 12, 16 and 19 as the dates of the three matches proposed. . Tho committee arrived at its decision after a deputation from the council, consisting of Messrs. R. Doble and E. Stallworthy, had waited on the management committee of the Auckland League regarding the question of ground charges for the matches. Mr. Stallworthy informed tho committee that the visitors would play three matches in Auckland, but the guarantee was high, and generous terms regarding _ ground charges were necessary beforo the New Zealand Council would entertain the visit. Mr. W. Mincham's suggestion that the ground bo given free caused considerable discussion. Several delegates expressed tno opinion that tho usual charges should be uiude, provided tho tour was successful. Mr. G. Rhodes, chairman oi tho committee. said he favoured the last suggestion, seeing the New Zealand League provented the Auckland League from inviting a Sydney team to Auckland earlier in tho season, when the time was more convenient. On that occasion he would have personally guaranteed all expenses. Ihe chairman, however, agreed that tho tour should bo encouraged. . .. Tho emergency committee of the council then met, aiid decided to accept the League's ground terms, and to go ahead with the arrangements for tho tour.
