JIGGER STRUCK BY TRAIN.
DEATH OF INSPECTOR.
COLLISION WITH EXPRESS

WAIHI, Tuesday
The death occurred late yesterday of Mr. Richard John Perry, acting-inspector of permanent ways, who suffered shocking injuries when the motor-jigger he was riding came into collision with tho Taurartga express near tho Waimata station yesterday morning. Deceased was married and was 53 years of age. Ho is survived by his wife and an adult family. An inquest was opened this morning beforo the district coroner, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, and after evidence of identification had been given by Mrs. Perry, who resides at Ellerslie, the inquiry was adjourned sine die. Mr. Perry was a new arrival in the Waihi district.
