THAMES THEATRE COMPANY.
DIVIDEND OF 7 PER CENT. The fourteenth annual report of tlio Thames Theatre Company, Limited, for the year ended on August 31, states that after making full provision for depreciation there is a sum of £6Bl for distribution. The directors recommend payment of a dividend of 7 per cent, on the ordinary shares of the company, compared with 6 per cent, the previous year, and 10 per cent, in 1926-27. This will absorb £630, leaving £sl to be carried forward.
The capital of the company is £9OOO in £1 shares, and there is £2OO in the general reserve account. Assets totalling £9381 include:—Freehold property, plant and fittings, £7901; war bonds, at cost, £625; cash at bank, £1105; sundry debtor, £250. r , . The retiring directors, Messrs. G. Cullen and W. Price, offer themselves for reelection.
CHICAGO WHEAT MARKET.
SHARP DROP IN PRICES

Selling on (lie floor in the last few minutes of trading in the wheat pit brought a sharp drop in wheat prices. On tlio Chicago Board of Trade the pressure is credited to Eastern holders of long grain, and is attributed to reports from Argentina of threatening weather in the wheat provinces. News of drought from the southern hemisphere has been tlio market's main support at recent sessions. Wheat prices closed as follows:—September, 1 dollar 30J cents per bushel; December. 1 dollar 39 cents; March, 1 dollar 44 5-8 cents; May, 1 dollar 48 5-8 cents.
LONDON DAIRY VALUES
CHEESE PRICES HIGHER,
A cablegram received by Dalgety and Company, Limited, from its London lioii.se, Messrs. Samuel Pago and Son, confirms the recent reports of the firming of the English dairy market. The cablegram is as follows Cheese: New Zealand Is a cwt. higher; white, 92s to 935; coloured. 93s to 945. Butter: The total imports into the United Kingdom last month were 527,000cwt., compared with 585,000cwt.. for the corresponding period of last year.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES.

Transport has been delayed by nan weather, but alt material is now on the site and it is hoped to commence dulling about September 25.
