SECTION FINALS TO-DAY<

CHAMPIONSHIP TO-MORROW.

Tho New Zealand ladies' hockey tournament entered on its sixth day to-day. Tho weather was fine and the attendance was estimated at 1-00. Details of the scorcß are:— Section A.—Ruahine, 2, v. Rotorua 0; Southland. 5, v. Poverty Bay A, 0; Auckland A. 2, v. South Canterbury, 2. Section B.—Eastern (Southland), "6, v. Poverty Bay B, 0; Wellington, 13, v. Auckland B, 0; Wairarapa, 1, v. Hawke's Bay, 1. After having much tho better of the, play Auckland A was unlucky in only securing a draw with South Canterbury. Weak shootins again cost the Northerners tlio game. This was Auckland's first point in tho competition. For South Canterbury Misses Dererrzy and Aker scored, and Mibb Craig scored twico for Auckland. The match between Wellington and Auckland B was fast, but very one-sided. Auckland put up a game showing against, liopclesß odds, with Miss A. Black shining in tho defence. For the winners, goals were scored by Misses V. Stubbs. (fi), J. Harper (3), D. Foreman 02) and McDowell (2). Tho position of the teams after tho sixth day's play is as follows: Section A.—Ruahine, 5 games. 5 wins, Southland, 5. 5; Poverty Bay A. 6, 3: Rotorua, 5, 3;. Bush, 5, 1; South Canterbury, (3, 1, 1 draw; Auckland A, C, 1 draw. Section B.— Canterbury, 5 games, 6 wins; Wellington, 5, 5; Hawke's Bay, 5, 2, 1 draw; Wairarapa. 5, 2. 1 draw: Eastern, 15, 2; Auckland 13, 6, 1: Poverty Bay B, 6, 0. To-morrow tho matches will bo particulai ly oxciting, as the leaders, who are all level, will meot each other. Tho winners will play of! for tho championship on. I'riday. , Jomorrow, Ruahine and Southland meet in A section and Wellington and Canterbury in B section.
