LAWN TENNIS.
MELROSE PARK CLUB. Tho first annual meeting of tlia Melrose Park Tennis Club was held Inst evening, the president, Mr. T. Carr Enright, presiding ovor a good attendance of members. The annual report, stated that the club had shown solid progress since its inauguration. After the New Year the courts improved, membership increased, and by tho end of February it was found necessary to provide an additional court. Toward tho end of the season a very keenly-contested combined doubles tournament was held, but, owing to various causes, the finals had_ yet to be played. The conimittco had decided to award a special prizo to Mr. J. Black, tho player at the head of tho men's ladder when tho competition was closed. Tho balance-sheet showed an cxccbs of expenditure over receipts of f 1 7s sd. Assets aro shown at £67 Bs. while liabilities amounted to £ll 1!)s Hd. There was thus a favourablo balance of £55 Es Id. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, the Mayor of Devonport., Mr. E. Aldridge: president. Mr. T. Carr Enright; vice-presi-dents, Hon. E. W. Alison, Dr. Bennett, Messrs. A. Boldero, S. H. Lyon. J. Massoy. G. B. Scotland, F. Sullivan. T. Walsh: hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. Wilson; hon. auditor, Mr. A. J. Muirhead: committee, Mrs. Turner, Messrs. A. Williams, If. Williams, W. Turner and R. 13. Dickey. PAPAKURA CLUB. Mr. A. Pavitt presided ever a-fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of tho Papakurn Lawn Tennis Club:— The election of officers resulted as fol-lows-.—Patron, Mr. E. D.
