PRETSCH—MOORE. [FROM OUR OWN COnHESI'ONDENT.] LONDON. July t2. A quiet wedding was solemnised in London recently by the Rev. Ross-Urquhart between Kathleen, second daughter of Mr. F. T. Moore, and the late Mrs. Moore, of Manunui, and Fred., only sou of the late Mi and Mrs. K. Pretsch, Cromwell. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Pretsch left for the Cornish Riviera, where they intend to stay for about two months, before sailing for New Zealand in August Both Mr. and Mrs. Pretsch came to England about 12 months ago on holiday.

UAILEY—MAGUIRE. | FROM oun OWN CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, July 12. Miss Emily Herbert Muguiro was married to Mr. Hugh Somerville Bailey on Saturday. Miss Maguirc, who is tho daughter of Dr. uric! Mrs. C. E. Maguirc, (il Auckland, lias been in London for the pa.')!, two or three years engaged in journalism and literary work. I lie wedding ceremony was performed at St. Ktlielburga's Church, Bishopsgate, by the Rev. Dr. Geikie-Cobb. The bride wore a simple gown of pink figured georgette with a black hat. In the afternoon Mrs. Frank Newcomb, on behalf of Dr. and Mrs. Maguirc, held a wedding reception at the Criterion Restaurant. Airs. Newcomb received the guests in grey georgette and silver lace, and Mrs. Hugh Bailey wore cream taffeta with a sasli of blue ribbon and orange Blossom. The Bridesmaids, six in number —the Misses Ehrhardt, Leyien, Oliver, Lord, Thomas and Foster Smith—wore cream lace with shoulder posies of forget-me-nots. Mr. Hugh Bailey was attended by Mr. Charles A. Hopkinson. The afternoon was spent tea-dancing with only a few speeches. The toast of tho bride and bridegroom was proposed by Colonel C. F. Oliver, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and answered by Mr. Hugh Bailey. The latter proposed the toast of the bridesmaids, to which Mr. Hopkinson replied. 'lhe toast of the bride's parents was made by Sir Carrick Robertson, who acted for Dr. and Mrs. Maguire in giving the bride away earlier in the day.
