Miss/,l!race Margaret Wilson, C.8.E., JI.R.CV, a member of the Australian Army Nursing Service, has been awarded (lie Florence Nightingale medal by the International Red Cross Committee at Geneva. The award is made among nursing sisters who have given distinguished service on the field, in public calamities, or otherwise in civil life. Miss Wilson, who was appointed principal matron to the Australian Imperial Force in 1915, served at Mudros and in Egypt, France and England. She is now matron'rin-chief of the Australian Army Nursing Service.

On Saturday evening at tlie home of ]\lr. and Mrs. Robert Powell, of Bucklaiid, p triple birthday party was given. Dancing and vocal items by Mrs. R. Powell and Miss 0. Foster were greatly enjoyed and later supper was served, the tables having been arranged with white and yellow daffodils. Mrs. R. Powell received her guests wearing a frock of black sequins with a wrap of almond green. She was assisted by her sister-in-law, Mrs. "Bell, who'wore royal blue satin.
