GIFTS TO CHIEF SCOUT.
BOYS OF ALL THE WORLD. MOTOR-CAR AND A CHEQUE. (Received August 11. 5.35 p.m.) United Service. LONDON. Aug. 10. The Chief Scout, Sir Robert BadenPowell (now a peer), today toured tlie Boy Scouts' c.inip at Arrowc Park, Birkenhead, on horseback. He addressed 509 scoutmasters.
Christian Holm, Danish Chief Scout, on behalf of tlio world's scouts presented Sir Robert with a Rolls-Royce motor-car with a caravan trailer, and a cheque for £2750, also a portrait in oils and an illuminated scroll in a casket. lie paid a tribute to the Chief Scout for his inspiration to make boys loyal and useful citizens and to teach tTiem the rules of the great game. The radiator of the presentation car bears a Fleur do Lvs and is inscribed: "To our beloved Chief from the Hoy Scouts of all the world."
The jamboreo is now approaching its end. The gates will be closed to the public on Monday morning. Pilgrims' Way will then ring for three days with the tramp of youthful legions starting out ujion their return to the four corners of the earth:
