DISTURBANCES PREVENTED
EUROPE'S CAPITALS QUIET.
WORKERS IGNORE RED ORDERS.
Australian and N.Z. Press Association. PARTS. Aug. 1
The threatened demonstrations iiy Com munists did not materialise in Paris, where all is quiet. Most of the workers ignored the summons of the Third (Communist) International to down tools. The police seized to-day's issue cl L'Humanite. the Communist organ. Communist Day is reported also to have fizzled out in all the other European cap itals. No casualties are reported.
The measures taken by the military police authorities frustrated the Communists' schemes at Vienna and at Atliens, where the doings of the Reds were camouflaged as anti-war demonstrations.
