Ausfrnlinn nr.d N.Z. Press Association. (Received August 2, 11.55 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 2. A by-olection was held to-day at Leeds, South-East, to fill the seat rendered vacant by the appointment of Sir Henry Slesser as a Lord Justice of Appeal. Tho polling resulted as follows
J. Milner (Labour) . . . . 11,804 W. Brain (Communist) .. 512 Mr. Brain forfeits his deposit.
Tho result of the polling for the Leeds, South-East, seat at the recent general election was: —
, S'ir Henry Slesser (Labour) . . 22,403 J. C. Spurr (Conservative) . . 7,385
