COST SUBSCRIBED LOCALLY.

At a social gathering last evening the Mayor, Mr. W. Bongard, on behalf of the people of Thames, who in the past 18 months have subscribed its cost of £550. formally handed over a new motor reel to the 'Thames volunteer fire brigade. Tho gift was thankfully acknowledged by Superintendent A. Gnnelt. win sn:d the efficiency of the brigade would be greatly increased by tho provision of such a handsome gift.
