TREATMENT OF NATIVES
GOVERNMENT AID WANTED

A communication was received at today's meeting of (he Tauranga Hospital Board from the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board with regard to tho question of hospital and nursing treatment of natives. It was urged that, those boards vitally interested should approach Parliament with a view to procuring somo measure of assistance from the Government.
It was suggested that a conference bo held at somo convenient centre, say Hamilton, in order to decide the nature of tho assistance to bo sought, and the manner of the seeking.
Mr. B. ('. Bobbins moved:—"That the Tauranga Board is of opinion (hat such a conference is desirable and is prepared to support (ho proposal." Tho motion was carried unanimously. It, was decided to ask tho Department of Health to send a technical inspector to report as to fhe necessity for additions to To Puke Maternity Hospital.
The hoard decided to ask the Auckland Hospital Board on what terms they would carry out the 'pathological work in connection with tho Taurnngn, Hospital.
The Controller and Auditor-General forwarded the balance-sheet of (ho board for tho year ended March 31, 1929, certified as correct.
