BOARD FALSELY OBTAINED.
MAN SENT TO PRISON.

An admission that he had obtained board to the value of 30s from a Well-
ington boarding house keeper by means of false pretences was made, by Leslie Alfred John Walters, aged 25, in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day. Sergoant-De.toctive J. Thompson said accused hail done practically no work during the last year. He was a car driver by occupation. He had been previously convicted of theft. Accused asked the Court to place him on probation for three years and give him 25 lashes. The magistrate. Mr Wyvern Wilson, told accused not to talk nonsense. He could not give him lashes, and would not give them if he could. Accused was sentenced to imprisonment for ono month.
