SHIP'S FIREMAN FINED.

"Accused was fighting drunk," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy in the Police Court yesterday when Alexander Main Baillie, aged 26, a fireman on the steamer Maheno, was charged with using obscene language on Queen's Wharf on Thursday afternoon.

Constable Hanna said that accused was at tho foot of tho gangway. He was drunk and when the police attempted to take him on to the ship he refused Jta go, declaring his intention of fighting. Tho magistrate, Mr. F, K. Hunt, imposed a fine of £2, in default seven days' imprisonment.

On charges of breaking, the terms of his prohibition order bv entering licensed promises and by procuring liquor Murdo Mcßae was fined £5, in default, 14 days' imprisonment.
