A contract has been let to Mr. G. 11. Edwards, of Auckland, to construct additions in brick and concrete to the Hamilton Hotel at a cost of £17,305. The new work will occupy an additional 180 ft. of frontage to Victoria Street, and will consist of a number of shops, private rooms and bedrooms. The plans were prepared by Mr. R. B. Young, Auckland. Sheepskins fairly maintained the Inst sale's level for dry lots, but snlteds were easier by fully 6d and in somo cases 111010 per skin. Thero was a keen tale for cow hides and extra lightweight ox. but medium and heavy ox wore dull of sale nt a decline of about 3-8 d per lb. Yearling and kip wore about a farthing easier. Tallow 6old round about par with the last salo. The rango of prices is
