TROUBLE AT THE SPIRAL. TRAIN DIVIDED IN TWO. [BV TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION".] WELLINGTON, Thursday. The express which arrived at Wellington to-day from Auckland was over an hour late owing to a hold-up on the spiral after leaving Raurimu. A heavy snowfall bad rendered the lines very greasy and after nearly a dozen attempts to negotiate the steep incline tho engino was found unequal to tho t-ask. Eventually the train had to be divided in half and the engine made two trips to get all the .carnages to the top of tho hill. The passengers were badly shaken by the frequent abortive attempts to climb the incline, tho jolting and sudden stopping being very severe at times.
