MARRIED WOMAN'S DEATH.

EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. [BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday. An inquest was held this morning in connection with the death of Eileen McInnes, a married woman, of Otaki, who died in hospital on July 24. The evidence of the hospital superintendent was to tho effect that deceased had told him she used an instrument upon herself. The cause of death was septicaemia peritonitis, following an illegal operation. Detective Russell stated that deceased, when interviewed, admitted performing an illegal operation on herself. She refused to divulge other information. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
