The Western Canada wheat crop will be only 65 per cent, of the normal, owing to the excessive drought 111 all threo provinces, according to tho crop statement of tho Canadian Wheat Pool. MAHAKIPAWA COLDFIELDS. Tho mine manager, Mahakipawa Goldfields reports to July 8 as follows:—"Tlio south-east drive was advanced lift, for the week. A 4ft layer of coarse sand has come into tho face. This bed is underlain by a 2ft. band of gravelly wash resting on a fairly hard floor. The men working this drive have been transferred to a pomt close to the present face of the south drive to prospect in an easterly direction from the cavity exposed in this drive last week; it yielded a nice sample of gold, and is worth following.
