THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. SALES MADE ON SATURDAY. The only notablo feature of the sales made at tho single fall oil tlio Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday was a further upward movement 111 Mount Lyells. Although quotations for Government securities and local body and commercial debentures were renewed without chance, thero was even less responso than usual from sellers, ono Government Stock and New Zealand Breweries debentures being all that were on offer. Inscribed Stocks, 1932. per cent., were dono at £99 12s Gd, which is 2s 6d below tho level of the last sale. New Zealand Breweries debentures also sold a shade easier at 26s 9d. There was a very firm tone in tho banking section. In insurance more than half tho shares had inquiry. In loan and agency New Zealand Guarantee Corporations were unchanged with a sale at 9s sd. In mining Mount Lyells continued their steady appreciation by sellinc Is dearer at 43s 9d. Moro were offered at tho prico, buyers 43s 6d.

SHAG POINT COLLIERY. RECONSTRUCTION PROPOSALS. [by telegraph. —own correspondent.] DUNEDIN. Pun day A definite advance has been mado in the negotiations between tho liquidators of the Shag Point Coal Company, W E. 0. Beid and Company, and the members of the Shag Point Union, tho men having signed a working agreement. This clears tho way for the formation of a new company to carry on mining operations. Steps are now being taken to try to raise the necessary capital for the new venture.
