RESUMPTION OF RELATIONS
NOTE GOING TO MOSCOW. STATEMENT BY MacDONALD. British Wireless. KUGBY, July 11. Tho Government lias had under consideration the conditions under which diplomatic relations with Russia might bo resumed, and it is understood that within the next few days a communication upon tho subject will be addressed to the Soviet Government,.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, in the House of Commons today was asked whether tho House would have an opportunity od discussing tho question of tho resumption of diplomatic relations with Russia before decisivo action was taken, und whether tho communications to and from tho Dominions on the subject would be published.
Mr Mac-Donald said that a suitable opportunity for such a debate would doubtless arise, but ho could give no undertaking to postpono all action until the debate took place. Tho question of publishing tho correspondence as requested would be considered, but the matter had not yet reached tho stage at which it would bo desirablo to lay tho papers on tho table. The other Governments would have to bo consulted heforo such publication. In reply to supplementary questions the Prime Mintstor undertook that tho usual procedure and practice would ho followed in bringing tho matter before the House of Commons.
