Tho Premier. M. Poincare, spent some hours of a broiling afternoon recapitulating the arguments in favour of ratification. He declared that every effort to
obtain anything in the nature of loserva tions had met with refusal. It. was cor tain that no such clauses would bo ac cepted either by Britain or the United States.
If the agreements were not ratified claim- would lu> made against France, particularly by liiit a in, while the Voting reparation payment plan itself would bo threatened
M. Mottu supported the Governmen and proposed that Parliament, instead o discussing tho agreements, should em tiower the Government to ratify them.
A laborious and dangerous debate woul bo avoided if the Chamber can be induce* to aßieo to this course.
