TWO WORKERS INJURED.
ACCIDENTS IN CITY.
A workman at the City Council destructor in Fatteson Street, Mr. William Smith, aged 45, had several ribs broken yesterday morning, when he was crushed between a projecting case on a lorry and a door post. Mr. Smith was caught as the lorry backed into the doorway.
After medical attention he was taken to his homo at 17, Islington Str#t, Heme Hay, by the St. John Ambulance.
As the result of a portion of a brick and concrete wall, which he was helping to demolish, collapsing suddenly on to him, a singlo man, George Cooper, received a compound fracture of the right leg yesterday afternoon. The injured man, who is employed by Grevatt and Sons, contractors, was working on the old building now being demolished in Vulcan Lane, lie was treated by the St. John Ambulance and taken to the hospital, where his condition last evening was not regarded as serious. Mr. Cooper, who is 51 years of age, lives at 74, Norfolk Street, Fonsonby.
