HOSPITALITY APPRECIATED. REGRET AT DEPARTURE. L«y TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Friday. The commander of the German cruiser Kmden, Captain von Arnauld, to-day expressed his great regret that their visit was now coming to an end. Ho said he was deeply impressed with the reception and welcome received both jn Auckland and Wellington, and ho much regretted that the oliicial programme of the tour prevented a visit to the South Island. Tie felt sure tho visit had helped to clear away misconceptions and establish a spirit of friendliness. He hoped soon to be able to reply fo the many hundreds of letters received by him from all over Now Zealand, expressing goodwill and friendship.
