LAW STUDENTS' BALL.
GAY SCENE IN SCOTS HALL.
Twinkling fairy lights peeping through bamboo foliage and hanging in loops from the ceiling to the walls gave a bright note of colour to the decorations in Scots Ilall last evening when the Auckland University Law Students' Society held its twelfth annual bail. Bamboo foliage was arranged in the entrance to the hall, and among it. were hung miniature fairy Mglits in red, blue, green and gold. In the ballroom alternate lines of coloured lights and vari-coloured chains were looped trom light-globes in the ceiling to the walls, and in front of the stage were suspended hanging baskets of ferns. While piogrammes were being filled Mr Waiter Smith's orchestra played the overtuie "Poet and Peasant," and afterwards popular danco music was provided. Rogers, black ring velvet with ivory sash; Miss Francelle Drier, opalescent sequinned frock; Miss Maizie Stone, mauve taffeta; Miss Thelma Cox, whito georgette with tiered skirt; Miss Pauline Watson, ivory crepe de chine edged with silver lace; Mrs. 11. A. Steadman, black georgette beaded in jet, blue and silver. Miss Marjorio Fair was in lemon georgette embroidered in gold, with a blue sash; Miss W. Hill, powder blue georgette trimmed with pink roses; Miss Dorothy Buckingham, electric-blue shot taffeta;" Miss Ella Wilcox, leaf green georgette; Miss Marjorie Daw, larkspur blue georgette; Miss Gwen Cook, fhtnui taffeta: Miss Thyra Brodie, delphinium blue taffeta with uneven hem; Miss Edwards, ivory satin and georgette; Miss Beverley llorrocks, turquoise blue georgette; Miss Janet Wallace, ivory georgette with anklelength frilled skirt; Miss T. Douglas, orange taffeta with hem of gold lace; Miss B. Little, ivory georgette trimmed with hand-painted flowers; Miss E. Crcedon, sedge green satin and georgette; Miss M. Gregg, silver lame corsage and white chiffon skirt; Miss Nancy St. Clair Whvte, wistaria-mauve frilled georgette with mauve lame coatee. McVeagh, ficelle lace over rosepink chiffon; Miss Betty Council, silver lame corsage and pink chiffon skirt: Mrs. Kirk powder blue georgette appliqued with satin flowers; Miss Barnes, floral lame bodice with blue georgette skirt edged with rainbow colours; Miss Elfreda Hall, mauve georgctto with yoke and hem of lemon chiffon; Miss M. Hart, silver lame and georgette; Miss Tong, powder blue georgette with a tiered skirt; Miss T. Saunders, ankle-length frock of ivory frilled georgette; Miss F. M. Saunders, cherry ring velvet and lame; Miss White, blush rose crepe de chine with uneven hem; Miss Doreen Cook, emerald green georgette over silver tissue, and green beaded bridge coat; Miss I. Brook, period frock of lemon taffeta.
