Mr. Ashley Hunter has been advisee) that ho has been elected a member of tho council of the Institution of Civil Engineers, England, in tho capacity of a representative of tho profession in New Zealand. The council consists of 31 members, and, in addition to New Zealand representation, seats are allotted to representatives of Canada, Australia, South Africa and India.
