PEDESTRIAN KNOCKED bOWN.

VERDICT AGAINST MOTORIST. Judgment for £37 7s 6d was given by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday in favour of Alfred Broadhead, who proceeded against James Mignot as the result of a motoring accident at the corner of Franklin Road and Ponsonby Road on May 19. Plaintiff was represented by Mr. Blakey, and Mr. Bono appeared for defendant. At the time of the accident plaintiff was crossing the road at the intersection, while defendant was turning his car from ,I'onsonby Road into the side street.

After hearing lengthy evidence the magistrate held that plaintiff's allegation of negligence was upheld, and that defendant did not exercise a ■ sufficient amount of care. In addition to the amount of tho judgment' plaintiff was granted costs and witnesses' expenses.
