Labour.—Mr. Thomas Shaw, with Miss Susan Lawrence as Parliamentary Secretary. Health.—Mr. Arthur Greenwood, with Miss Margaret Bondfield as Parliamentary Secretary. Board of Trade.—Mr. W. Graham. Agriculture.—Mr. Noel Buxton. Overseas Trade (an office the importance of which 'will be increased). —Mr. .A. V. Alexander. Education. —Sir Charles Trevelyan. Dominions.—Mr. T. MORE CONSERVATIVE SEATS. LIBERALS WIN THREE SCOTTISH. British Wireless. RUGBY, June 2. Of the further election results declared yesterday the Conservatives held two scats for Cambridge University and Dr. Graham Little < (Independent) was returned for London University. The Liberals won three Scottish seats and the Conservatives one. COMMENT IN BERLIN. BRITAIN'S FOREIGN POLICY. DRASTIC CHANCE UNLIKELY. Australian Press Association—United Service BERLIN. June 2. Commenting on the British election the Vossissche Zeitung says that in place, of Sir Austen Chamberlain will come men who will not follow a policy of alliances and military power but will strive for security arid for the alleviation of the taxpayers' lot by facilitating economy and co-operation. The Deutsche Zeitung describes the election as a bluff. It says Germany must not expect a drastic change in Britain's foreign policy.
NEW WOMAN MEMBER. BORN IN AUSTRALIA. United Service. LONDON, June 2. A uniquely historic figure is Dr. Marion Phillips, the first Australian-born woman to enter the British House of Commons. Dr. Phillips attributed a large part of Labour's success 'to womanhood suffrage. Her mother was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and was taken to Australia wiien she was one year old. 1)11. COSMO LANG. BRIEF COMMENT ON RESULT. United Service. LONDON. June 2. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Lang, commenting on the result of the election, said: "I will only permit myself to say that if Mr. Ramsay MacDonald forms a Government, the English State and the English Church again will pass under the rule of a Scotsman." 1
