THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson attended the Auckland Racing Club's winter meeting on Saturday, and plater in the afternoon the Governor-General opensd the new drill hall of the Royal Volunteer Naval Reserve at St. Mary's Bay. Today, t,h6 King's Birthday, His Excellency will take the salute at the ceremonial parade at the Domain, after which ho will attend the luncheon of th 6 King's Empire Veterans at the Town Hall. Their Excellencies will later be present at the second day of the races. To-morrow Her Excellency will pay an unofficial visit to the Myers Kindergarten. An official dinner will bo held at Government House this evening in honour of the King's, Birthday.
