BURNED TO DEATH.
FATE OF AN AGED MAN. LIVING ALONE IN WHARE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI, Sunday. Tiie Waihi police received advice yesterday morning that Mr. Hercules H. G. Brinkley, an old-age pensioner residing at Whangamata, was burned to death in his whare the previous night. Mr. Brinkley was practically blind. Efforts had been made to persuade him to make his home in Waihi, where he might have been given better attention, but he refused to leave the district.
