BRUTAL ASSAULT.
GAOL FOR PERPETRATOR. (Received May 23. 9.55 p.m.) MELBOURNE. M»y 23. Michael Parlon, who brutally assaulted and injured William Carroll, a railway employee, in the country was to-day sentenced to three months' imprisonment and was ordered to receive eight strokes of the lash.
