KWANGSI ABMY DEFEATED. AERIAL BOMBING SUCCEEDS. CANTON NOW THOUGHT SAFE. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received May 23, 11.25 p.m.) HONGKONG. May 23. The situation in connection with the win-faro between the southern provinces of Kwangtung and Kwangsi has undergone a complete change. The Canton forces have administered a signal defeat to the Kwangsi army. This was largely attributable to the crews of 10 Canton aeroplanes bombing tho enemy with great accuracy. Tho Canton leaders claim to have taken 5000 prisoners. They say 70 per' cent, of tho Kwangsi forces are either killed or captured. Tho rest are fleeing to the hills. Numerous wounded men have arrived at Canton yesterday and to-day. The Canton authorities have assured the inhabitants of the city that they now hold tho upper hand and have broken the Kwangsi movement.
