TAXATION OF MOTORS.
TAXI-OWNERS SEEK RELIEF. DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. [BV TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Minister of Transport, the Hon. W. A. Veitch, to-day received a deputation from the Wellington taxi-cab proprietors, who pointed out tho anomalies existing as between tho various centres in connection with the heavy vehicle tax, and sought relief from the heavy burden that tho Wellington proprietors in particular are alleged to bo carrying. In replying tho Minister said , tho Transport Board was working very hard on the whole problem of motor taxation. He hoped to bo able to afford some temporary measure of relief, but he could not make a statemont at present. He recognised that thero were anomalies, and that their burden was heavy.
