WOMEN'S GOLF TITLE.
rLAY IN SECOND ROUND. MISS WETHERED IN FORM. WIND AT ST. ANDREWS. Australian Press Association—United Scrvico (Received May 15. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 11. In the women's open golf championship at St. Andrews in the second round Miss Joyce Wethercd met Mrs. Madill, an Irish international player. Wethercd played surprisingly well, in spite of a strong wind. She did 11 holes in 46, the last four in 3, 4. 4, 3, which gave her victory by 8 .up and 7 to play. Miss Enid Wilson began splendidly with 4, 5, 5, 4. Then she took four strokes from the edge of the green at the fifth hole, and took three putts on the sixth and seventh greens, but won easily. Miss Glonna Collctt (America), who reached the turn in 41, also putted indifferently, but won her match comfortably. Miss Laseclles (Australia) beat Miss Clark (Troon), 3 and 2. Miss Nankivell (Australia) beat Miss Fowler (Harrogate) at the 19th hole. Miss Molly Gourlay (Cambevley . Heath) beat Miss Millear (Australia), 7 and 6. Mrs. Cochrane (Banchory) had a walkover against Miss Dohie (Australia), who was scratched.
