FULLBACK SCORES TRY.

UNCOMMON RUGBY INCIDENT. The very uncommon occurrence these days to see a fullback scoru a try in a Rugby match took place in tho game between Ponsonby and Manukau at Eden Park on Saturday. Watene, playing custodian lor Manukau, received the ball about halfway and punted to a gap. The ball landed near the Ponsonby line, where a defending back failed to gather cleanly after two cr three attempts, and Watene, following up fast, gathered possession to touch down between two opponents. His effort was greatly appreciated by the spectators, who showered tho player with rounds of applause.
