PATIENT ESCAPES.
MENTAL HOSPITAL INMATE.
A patient at the Auckland Mental Hospital wandered away from the institution about six o'clock last evening, and is afc presdnt at large, lie has been an inmate for a number of years, and tho authorities do not consider him to bo a serious case. The matter has been reported to the police, and a soarch is to bo carried out. ■ The patient was ftllowod comparative liberty within the confines of the institution, and lie hhd been walking in the grounds last evening bofors he wandered away. It is not known whether ho has relatives in Auckland and the hospital authorities know of no place to which ho. is likely to go.
The patient is aged about 60 years. He is sffc, 9in, in height, heavily built and .with stooped shoulders. Ho has a dark complexion, black hair-turning grey, and a! black, bushy beard. Ho was wearing a, brown, fadod tweed suit and heavy boots and Had no hat,
