AUCKLAND FRENCH CLUB.
[ START OF NEW SEASON.
The Auckland -French Club held its first meeting of the new season in tho clubrooms, Union Buildings, last evening. Tho president, M. Paul Serre, presided over an attendance of about 100 members and friends.
The president announced that extensive preparations were being made for entertaining the officers and crow of the French cruiser Tourville, which would visit Auckland in July. A ball would also bo held during the visit of tho vessel, An excellent musical progi'amrne was rendered and was followed by the reading of a play, ."Ls Lottre Chargo.'i
