TESTING OF HERDS.
SOME EXCELLENT FIGURES
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Monday. Two herds of outstanding merit aro included in the groups tested during the past season by tho New Zealand Herdtesting Association. Tho official figures of the association arc made out to May 31, and so far only orio-third of the total returns of the herds tested are available. The best herd to date is that of Mr. 11. 11. Dorr, of Te Aroha West, whose 29 cows averaged 4001b. butter-fat in 292 days. Of this total three two-year-old cows contributed an average of 2911b. fat in 286 days, three three-year cows 3431b. fat in 284 days, and 23 mature cows 4211b. fat in 295 days. The two and three-year-old cows were marked stock. Two cows produced between 2151b. and 30011). fat, seven 3001b. to 3501b. fat, six 3501b. to 4001b. fat, e.iprht 1001b. to 4501b. fat, two 4501b. to 500!b. fat, and five 5001b. to 5501b. fat. Tho only other herd to averago 4001b. fat to date this season was that of Mr. E. Mnthoson, in tho Kumeti group. . His four cows averaged 408.751b. fat in 276 davs.
