ROAD SIGNS.

Sir,—ln Monday's Herald Mr. 11. L. Davis takes objection to a sign erected some miles north of Gisbornc, denoting the distance from a Gisborne hotel, such sign bearing the name of the Auckland Automobile Association. I am pleased to be able to inform Mr. Davis that this si?n was not erected by tho association and the person who erected it was requested some time ago to remove it. Before Easter he painted out the monopram of the association, but still left tho association's name in small letters at the bottom of the sign. Ho has since been requested entirely, to obliterate the association's name and the association will insist that this be clone. ( Geo. W. Hutchison, Secretary A.A.A.
