THE NEW REGULATIONS. INQUIRY BY COMMITTEE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 HAMILTON, Thursday In reply to a protest by the Hamilton Borough Council against the imposing of the new gas regulations on the smaller centres, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Hon. J. G. Cobbe, has advised that the matter is to be investigated by a special Parliamentary committee next session. The council's objection stated that the enforcement of (he new regulations would involve additional expense and would confer no benefit on the consumers or the authorities concerned. At the invitation of (lie Minister the council has agreed to send a representative to givo evidence before the committee.
