LOWER POWER CHARGES.
BOARD'S RECOMMENDATION. CENTRAL AREA CONSUMERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. Reductions in the charges for electricity throughout the Central Electric-Power Board's area were decided upon at a special meeting of the board at Hamilton yesterday. It was suggested that electricity for lighting should be reduced from B£d to 8d per unit, subject to 5 per cent, discount, and that tho flat rate charges on the size of milking installations should bo reduced by 50 per cent. | Members expressed gratification that the financial position would permit of such reductions, which will amount to £3642 a year. It was decided to recommend the adoption of the new charges to the incoming board.
