PROVISIONAL SELECTIONS.

Australian and N.Z. Press Association. LONDON. April 19. The Rugby Union Selection Committee has provisionally selected the following players to tour New Zealand and Australia in 1930: — Fullbacks. —K. Sellar, T. Brown. Threequarters.—J. Ganly, A. A. Arvold, W. Simmers, G. Macpherson, lan Smith, A. Novis, H. Bowcott. Halfbacks. —J. Nelson, W. Powell, H. Greenlees, F. Williams, jr. Sugden. Forwards.—lvor Jones, D. Parker, T. Arthur, S. Cagney, G. Beamish, M. Dunne, C. Payne, H. Mcintosh, J. Paterson, H. Dew, D. Gummer, E. Colet, W. Wakefield, S. Martindalo. The team will leave England in the second week in April, 1930.

Of the selected team T. W. Brown (Bristol) has been fullback for England in most of the international matches last season. J. B. Ganly plays for Monkstoun, Ireland, and is an international representative. A. A. Aarvold plays for Cambridge University and England; W. M. Simmers for Glasgow Academicals and Scotland; G. P. S. Macpherson for Edinburgh Academicals and Scotland; lan Smith for Edinburgh University and Wales; H. M. Bowcott for Cambridge University and Wales; J. B. Nelson for Glasgow Academicals and Scotland; W. 0. Powell for London Welsh and Wales; IT. D. Greenlees for Leicester and Scotland; F. L. Williams for Cardiff and Wales; M. Sugden for Wanderers and Ireland; Ivor Jones for Llanelly and Wales; D. Parker for Swansea and Wales; T. Arthur for Neath and Wales; S. J. Cagney for Wanderers, London Irish and Ireland; G. R. Beamish for Royal Air Force and Ireland; M. J. Dunne for Lansdowne and Ireland ; 0. T. Payne for North of Ireland and Ireland ; 11. S. Mcintosh for Glasgow University and Scotland; J. R. Paterson for Birkenhead Park and Scotland; W. W. Wakefield. for some years captain of England, for Bleackheath and Middlesex.
