WEATHER IN AUCKLAND. The weather was very wet in Auckland yesterday. Heavy showers fell at frequent intervals all day and last night the conditions continued threatening. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WHANGAREI, Friday. For the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. today 2.91 in. of rain was recorded in Whangarei. At Ruatangata the fail was even heavier, 3.39 in. being registered, making a total of 5,06 in. for that locality sinco Monday. Three and a half inches of rain fell in the Dargaville district between Wednesday evening and 9 a.m. to-day, effectively stopping all outside work, including the much-needed work on tho Mititai-Toka-toka deviation, which only required another week of fine weather to enable it to bo completed. It is doubtful now, unless a fine spelt comes soon, that the work will be completed in time to allow winter traffic on it. Although the rain has been the heaviest experienced this year, beyond freshes in several of tho creeks, no damage has been done. In fact the rain has done good, as it was needed in some parts of the district.
