CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
CLUB AT TAUMARUNUI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUMARUNUI. Friday. The Taunuirunui Rod and Gun Club held a successful clay-bird shoot, when a large number of local sportsmen competed. Shooting conditions were fair, although it was rather dull, and some fine performances were put up. Results are:— Handicap Sweepstakes, seven birds.—\Y. Hushes, A. J. Richards aud E. Lislitfoot tied for first place with 6 breaks, and divided first and second money. Firßt Round for R. Harris' Cup. 15 birds. —W Peek nud J. Brown, tied for first place with 11 breaks, and divided the prize money. Handicap Sweepstakes, seven birds.—K. Harris ami A J Richards tiid with the possible and divided the money. Oimcrack, seven birds.—R. Harris. 1: l - .. Lishtfoot. N. Prussing, J. Brown and W. Hughes, enunl, "2. In the shoot-off for second place N. Prussing: was successful.
