HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
COUNCIL MEETING
A meeting of the council of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary was held this week, in the Hospital Foard room, Kitchener Street. Mrs. Alfred Kidd, president, was in the chair. A welcome was extended to Miss Mahoney, secretary to Mrs. Tiarks' motor committee. Dr. Margaret Knighl was appointed convener of the Sunshine Committee. The three present delegates, Mrs. David Nathan, Mrs. Prendergast and Miss Hasten, were re-elected to represent the council on the National Council of Women. Reports were received from Mrs. CarrSmn.li, convener of the city sewing circle, who reported that- 20 new garments had been made, and 196 garments donated for tho month. Mrs. Hammond Hyde, depot, reported th.it. 67 garments, 100 pots of jam and jolly, six parcels of fruit and vegetables, >3O bags sweets, scones, cakes, hooks, cigarettes, etc., had been distributed for the. month, also garments had been received from the Te Atatu and Birkdaio Women's Institutes, the Mount Eden branch, and numerous outsido donations.
Mrs. Tiarks reported on the activities of her committee who take patients for a drive once a week. Sister Hannah reported that 16 orders had been given to needy families during the month; Mrs. Dromgool reported that fivo orders had been given; Sister Esther also reported upon cases that had been helped. Mis. Neill, Onelmnga branch, read a report of the month's work, and Mrs. Marler reported that' an average of nine patients per week had been taken to their homes.
