STATISTICS FOR 1927. LOWEST EVER RECORDED. Australian Press spoliation—United Service (Received April 11, 7.45 p.m.) LONDON, April 10. Commenting on the continued fall in the birth-rate in Britain the Registrar-General says:—Since 1923 tho birth-rate has entered upon a stage which, if there is not an improvement in the future must ultimately result in a declining population. The returns for 1927 just published show that llkuo were 40.591 fewer births ill 1927 than in 1926. The rate for flic former year was the lowest ever recorded.
