THE EXPRESS TO AUCKLAND.
[by telegraph.—OWN correspondent:]
WHANGAREI. Thursday." "Tho matter of better accommodation on tho express between Whangarei and Auckland should be brought before the Minister of Railways his forthcoming visit." said Mr. R. 11. Allan, at a meeting of the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce last evening. The first-class carriages were filthy, said Mr. Allen, and were really only second-class carriages stamped first-class.
Other members agreed that the train accommodation on the Northern line was not up to standard, and it was decided to place the matter before the Minister.
